As predicted, which didn’t exactly take a crystal ball, the past weekend at the Suite was a winner with Bud Shank and company. The joint was full both nights and the quartet fed the crowd with beautifully constructed and soothing ballads to blasts of bop as emotionally charged as they were technically awe inspiring. The outstanding performance of Chris Andrew once again had many a patron wondering why this talented pianist does not yet have an album available.
